Year of the Brave
The Brave of us Community in 2026
While 2026 has already asked us to hold grief and mourning, it has also shown our bravery, determination, and collective power rising to meet this moment.
The Brave of US community is more resolved than ever in this new year.
Facing down armed masked militia, Minnesotans lead the Brave of US. This month, in the wake of yet another murder by ICE and invasion by this cowardly regime, Immigrant Defense Network launched a 30-city Brave of US Midwest tour, training community members to serve as Constitutional Observers and stand up for our neighbors and our freedoms when it matters most.
📰 Stories of bravery are spreading. Documented NY published two new Brave of US stories, lifting up everyday acts of care and resilience – from a therapist supporting families after ICE raids to a soccer coach creating safety and belonging for immigrant youth.
✨ Small actions are brave. We loved seeing Tsuru For Solidarity leader Dr. Satsuki Ina speaking with Rachel Maddow, reminding us that bravery lives not just in big moments – but in small, everyday acts of solidarity. Watch it here.
🎨 Brave of US took center stage during Miami Art Week, where NEA, SEIU, and artist Victor “Marka27” Quiñonez partnered to bring the artist’s striking “Elevar La Cultura” to life – a towering, immersive tribute to immigrant courage and hustle. The art activation created space for connection, reflection, and immigrant pride at a major cultural moment.
Lastly, a big milestone: the Brave of US website is officially live! Spanish and Korean translations are already up, with more languages coming soon.
Thank you for being part of this growing movement. Stay tuned for so much more ahead 💛
